The Edison Charger Pepsters/Songleaders/Girls & Guys have played a key role in spreading school spirit since 1969--the year Edison High School opened. Back in those days, the student body voted prospective Song Leaders onto the team. Since then, the elements of dance technique, tumbling, and artistry have evolved to become an integral part of our sport, which far extends the sideline of a football field. Today, the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams compete in both Pom and Jazz at the state, regional, and national levels, as well as train in dance technique year-round. We are excited to introduce our prospective Charger Spirit Squad to our new on-campus dance training facility!
What is an Edison Charger Girl/Guy?
A Charger Girl/Guy is someone who is enthusiastic, wants to be part of their school and community, and has previously had dance/pom experience. The Charger Girls/Guys cheers alongside Edison Cheerleaders at football and basketball games, as well as perform dances in assemblies, on the sidelines, and at professional performances. Our program receives P.E. credit during the freshmen and sophomore years, and earns Visual Performing Arts (VPA) credit during the junior and senior years. This program runs year-round with tryouts held every April, where an outside panel of industry professionals judge new candidates.
